St Martin’s day

November 11 we celebrate St Martin’s day, an old traditional Dutch feast. During this evening children walk through the neigbourhood with their paper lantarns and candles. While singing songs about St Martin, the children receive sweets or fruit.
At monday November 11, we start at 5:00 PM with decorating our paper lantarns and practicing some songs. Of course, the story about St Martin’s day is also shared at 5:30 PM. Then we walk through the neigbourhood and at 6:30 PM we’ll be back in Westerwijk and finish with bread and soup. No registration required.
